POSTPONED – VMPT 2020

The 9th International Conference on Virtual Machining Process Technology (VMPT 2020) is sponsored by the NSERC Canadian Network for Research and Innovation in Machining Technology – Phase 2 (CANRIMT2) and is integrated with its annual general assembly. Industry requires the rapid development, prototyping, testing and deployment of machining strategies in order to reduce costs and achieve the highest quality. A key tool in achieving this goal is the modelling of product development and manufacturing in a digital environment using science-based approaches in which the complete machining process can be simulated and optimized before resorting to costly and time-consuming physical trials on the shop floor. Digital models must now be integrated into the manufacturing environment to allow an autonomous and continuously optimised production of quality certified parts.
VMPT 2020 will be held at the University of Waterloo’s main campus. The majority of the conference will take place in the Engineering 7 (E7) building on campus. E7 is located on the east side of Ring Road, and is most easily accessible from Phillip Street.
